A Michigan-based company with a Nashville connection has released gaming app Box Mi Up for download in both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

GamersLook LLC Ltd., an owner of which is Nashvillian Jovan Haye, released the app about two weeks ago. Within the first 24 hours of its availability, Haye said the Box Mi Up app (picture a Rubik’s Cube) ranked among the top 100 free strategy apps on Apple.

Haye, a former NFL player (including with the Tennessee Titans) and Vanderbilt star who now works as an inventor and entrepreneur, said Box Mi Up “puts a new twist on a nostalgic classic.” It offers 3D gameplay, a ranked worldwide leaderboard and a variety of shapes and colors from which to choose.

Haye, founder of Haye Industries LLC, said Box Mi Up allows users to upload or take a photo for their icon pictures. In addition, players can change their backdrop picture to fit their own style. Every board has random double (200) and triple (300) point star boxes, which allow for strategic game play. Users also can chat while playing to make the game even more interactive.

“The app required about a year of work,” Haye said. “We are very encouraged by the initial response.”
